Catalyst Kids Holiday Roundup!

By mewing

As another year comes to an end, we reflect on the last year. Together we have persevered and have been able to help our communities and families as they return to work by providing unmatched quality care. We couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of so many children and families’ lives who make the work we do so meaningful. Each year our students and staff come together to give back to our communities – whether that be through donation drives, volunteering, or working together to make someone’s day better. Throughout the holiday season, several of our centers participated in donation drives, supported local law enforcement, and created their very own holiday activities and traditions.

Our Catalyst Kids – Myford Center created their very own version of the popular classic “Elf on the Shelf” and our new center, Cerritos has pushed through despite many challenges as a new center. We love their “snowy” activities!

Catalyst Kids -Ladera and Peters Canyon collected Toys for City of Hope on the Duarte Pediatrics floor. Ladera also created cards for all the children too. kiddos at Presidio made We are Thankful cards for their local security team and fire department.

Catalyst Kids – Freedom Crest was happy to participate in the elementary school’s local food drive. The children and families at Catalyst Kids collected several items to add to the school’s collection which was donated to the local food pantry. During the process, the children learned about being grateful for the things they have and the spirit of giving to those in need. It was a great segue into this season of giving and being thankful for what we receive.

Each year, our Catalyst Community team hosts a Community Giving tree. The Community Gift Tree is a collaborative effort between Catalyst Community and other community agencies to provide their families with gifts for the winter holiday. These organizations provide early care and education services to income-eligible families on the Western Slope of El Dorado County. This group was formed in 2006 and has been very successful in providing a place for community members to help those less fortunate and to ensure all children are remembered during the holiday season. Catalyst Community in Cameron Park collected gifts for 105 children this year.

These stories are a reflection of all Catalyst has and continues to accomplish as we move into 2022, hoping for an even stronger year ahead.
